A position has become available within the discrete SEND department for a 0.5 Lecturer to deliver vocational skills and transition activity to students accessing the college as a two-day provision as part of their post-16 education. The successful candidate will have:
- A passion for inclusive teaching and positive outcomes for young people with SEND.
- Qualifications and/or experience in teaching in discrete or specialist provision.
- Qualifications and/or experience in entry level creative or digital subjects.
- Ideally have a teaching qualification, e.g. PTTLS.
- Experience of teaching and supporting young people.
- A calm and empathic approach to students, with experience of using adaptive teaching methods.
- The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders such as professionals, parents, and support services.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
A teaching qualification would be an advantage or a commitment to undertake this within the first year of employment is essential. All successful applicants will need to undertake an enhanced disclosure and barring service check and children and adults barred list checks where the applicant will be employed in a regulated activity.
