Introduction
Are you a proactive coordinator looking to support the heart of UK democracy? Join the Parliamentary Security Department (PSD) and play a vital role in keeping Parliament safe and open for business. Based in our collaborative Security and Access Hub alongside the Metropolitan Police, you will connect directly to the wider House of Commons remit. By managing key access requests, coordinating vital intelligence briefings, and liaising with stakeholders, you'll ensure the Estate remains resilient, secure, and accessible to all.
The Role
Some of the responsibilities for this role include:
- Receiving and prioritising e‑mails to the Security and Access Hub inbox and telephone requests/requirements from internal and external customers.
- Dealing with Security and Access requests directly or, where appropriate, escalating them to senior colleagues for review.
- Managing customer expectations, negotiating with stakeholders while maintaining appropriate timescales.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Excellent organisational skills; able to prioritise their workload and ensure changing short‑, medium‑ and long‑term demands and deadlines are met, while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Ability to identify key information, ensuring that requests can be quickly answered and briefing materials produced are always accurate, succinct and relevant.
- Ability to find solutions to problems, seeking advice, using judgement and working with stakeholders to identify areas in policies where flexibility can be used to create mutually beneficial outcomes.
