Priory Hospital Burston House is looking to recruit a Senior Staff Nurse to join the team. This is a part time 26.88 hours role. The candidate will be working to the following pattern:

  • Each night shift will be from 19:30 to 07:45 with a 1.5 hour unpaid break.
  • Week 1 - Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Week 2 - Friday and Saturday.

Priory Burston House, located in the historic market town of Diss, near the border of Suffolk, provides level 2 rehabilitation for male patients with a learning disability. Our specialist learning disability service also cares for adults who may have complex mental health needs, including autism and personality disorders.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver prescribed care to a defined group of patients/Service users that reflect their individual needs.
  • Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
  • Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team.
  • Build relationships and effectively communicate and engage with external professionals and stakeholders.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • A qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse with 2+ years post registration experience within Mental Health or Learning Disability services as a minimum.
  • Active NMC registration and having completed a preceptorship or equivalent programme.
  • Strong understanding of NMC standards, guidelines and professional practices.
  • Ongoing commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Experience within Mental Health or Learning Disability Nursing.
  • Positive attitude towards change, quality improvement and innovation in practice.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • IT literate.
