Job Responsibilities
- Work a total of 11 sessions per week to be covered by 2 salaried GPs.
- Consultations and physical examinations to identify or reduce risk of disease or injury.
- Available at agreed times during the sessions for surgery consultations and telephone advice.
- All face to face consultations in the surgery; expected to carry out a fair share of home visits on days worked.
- Advise patients on general health, diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol consumption, and drug misuse.
- Arrange vaccination or immunisation against infectious diseases per national guidelines and policies.
- Refer where appropriate for other services under the NHS Act and to other agencies such as Social Services.
- Provide contraceptive services in accordance with Para 29 of the National Health Service (GMS) Regulations 1992.
- Provide maternity medical services in accordance with Para 31 and Part II of Schedule 5 of the National Health Service (GMS) Regulations 1992.
- Other clinics according to the interests of the post-holder.
- Hold a personal list of registered patients to maintain continuity of care.
- Opportunity to be involved in extended access clinics.
- Be involved in care home LES in supporting our care home residents on a rotational basis.
- On call commitments on a pro rata basis.
- Participate in practice educational meetings, mandatory training, and maintain CPD for annual appraisal and revalidation.
Qualifications
- Full registration with the GMC.
- Vocational training certificate or equivalent.
- Full or valid on performers' list if newly qualified.
- Membership of a Medical Defence organisation.
- Experience in teaching, research, or leadership roles.
- Willingness to contribute to service development and innovation.

- Will consider experienced or newly qualified GPs.
