We have a new and exciting opportunity for a full time Solicitor/Legal Executive to join our Legal Aid Team in our Rugby Office. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Private Law Children/Matrimonial and Domestic Abuse Cases.
About Us: Jackson West is a leading Midlands Law Firm with Offices in Banbury, Rugby & Stratford upon Avon.
- Manage caseload of primarily legal aid cases including private law children matters, matrimonial finances and domestic abuse applications.
- Attendance on clients to take instructions.
- Drafting statements of evidence, Court applications, letters, preparation of file notes, telephone notes and other correspondence.
- Undertaking legal research.
- Preparing cases for Court.
- Undertaking advocacy at various hearings throughout the case.
- Liaising and working collaboratively with other professionals and experts.
- Ensuring compliance.
- Other office duties as required.
Key experience:
- Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
- CILEX or Solicitor with 1-year+ PQE and experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to keep calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
