As a result of our expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic Retail Floor Planner to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth.

About the Role

As a Retail Floor Planner, you will be responsible for developing and communicating detailed floorplans for both new and existing stores. Using AutoCAD, you’ll collaborate with fellow floor planners, buyers, and analysts to produce accurate, efficient merchandising layouts that support seasonal changes and business needs. Reporting to the Floor Planning Manager, you will be part of a close‑knit planning team delivering layouts for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter trading periods. You’ll also contribute to the maintenance and administrative management of store plans, ensuring consistency and precision across all documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate and commercially effective store layout plans using AutoCAD to support new store openings, refits, and seasonal floor changes.
  • Collaborate closely with buyers and analysts to ensure layouts align with trading priorities, range plans, and merchandising strategies.
  • Maintain precise and up‑to‑date records and documentation for all store layouts, ensuring version control and audit accuracy.
  • Support the review, update, and amendment of layout plans in response to business requirements or performance insights.
  • Manage workload efficiently to ensure all layouts are delivered on time and to a consistently high standard.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a commercial or retail environment, with a strong attention to detail and an organised, analytical approach.
  • Creative, self‑motivated, and proactive, with the ability to work independently while showing initiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems, with experience using AutoCAD or a comparable design package.
  • An effective team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a customer‑focused mindset, sound decision‑making skills, and the ability to manage workloads and meet tight deadlines.
