We're looking for dedicated Waking Night Residential Childcare Workers to join our caring, experienced team in Formby.

About the role

As a Waking Night RCW, you will play a key role in ensuring the overnight safety and well-being of the children in our care. Working as part of a therapeutic team, you'll contribute to a calm and secure environment where young people can feel protected and respected, even while they sleep.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • To remain awake and vigilant for the duration of your shift ensuring young people are safeguarded throughout the night.
  • To undertake such domestic duties including cooking and cleaning that have been identified on the daily handover and passed to you by the Team Leader at the beginning of your shift.
  • To maintain a log of events throughout the course of your shift and prepare handover ready for staff in the morning.
  • To deliver personal care when guided by the young person's care plan.
  • To be responsible for the security of the building for the duration of your shift.
  • To participate in training as directed by your line manager and if applicable complete diploma in line with Children's Home Regulations 2015.

What we are looking for:

  • Ideally have previous Residential Childcare experience.
  • Experience with Learning disabilities or mental health support for adults and children is desirable.
  • Work on a Night shift/Rota basis - Waking Night shifts (152 hours per month).
  • An enhanced DBS certificate will be required upon appointment.
