Senior Regulatory Engagement Manager within the Risk & Compliance function, reporting to the Director of Regulatory Affairs, focuses on managing relationships with the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and supporting the implementation of M&G Plc's regulatory engagement strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Regulatory Affairs in delivery of the Group's proactive regulatory engagement strategy.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to key contacts across the business on regulatory matters, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and supporting them in proactive and reactive engagements with regulators.
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day interactions with the regulators' Supervisory teams, playing a key role at each stage of the regulatory engagement lifecycle.
  • Maintain a record of all regulatory contacts, engagement and follow‑up actions.
  • Prepare briefing notes for regulatory meetings and act as note taker to ensure an accurate record.
  • Coordinate and develop high‑quality and timely responses to regulator requests and provide regular management information.
  • Work with SMEs to review, provide input and guidance on materials before submission to meet regulator expectations.
  • Provide guidance to business contacts on issues that may require regulator notification.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and provide high‑quality input, guidance and insight to meet regulator expectations, ensuring consistency across responses.
  • Collaborate with the Regulatory Affairs team to ensure a seamless and consistent approach across M&G plc.
  • Provide input to projects on regulatory impacts, ensuring timely visibility to regulators and opportunities for questions.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent qualifications/experience and/or professional qualification.
  • Extensive regulatory experience (essential), ideally gained through work at the PRA and/or within the industry.
  • Good knowledge of regulator rules, especially PRA handbooks, and of regulatory environments in key jurisdictions (essential).
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills (essential).
  • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities, ensuring regulator requests are addressed timely (essential).
  • Seasoned Compliance professional with a strong track record in complex, global financial services businesses.
  • Significant experience in influencing and negotiating to resolve differences satisfactorily.
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to review materials, identify trends and articulate insights, including appropriate use of AI.
  • Strong presentation skills to articulate concepts clearly and compellingly.
  • Adept at building effective internal and external stakeholder relationships, highly collaborative.
  • Delivery and outcome focused, with resilience, determination and strong initiative.
  • Ability to support and develop a positive Compliance culture across the organisation.
  • Alignment with M&G's values and purpose.
