Responsible for leading and shaping global product compliance to enable timely and compliant entry into new and expanding markets. Act as the central regulatory conduit and strategic advisor between Commercial, R&D, regional teams, and external consultants, ensuring consistent, business-relevant regulatory delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Regulatory Leadership & Market Enablement – lead and drive regulatory compliance workstreams for global and regional innovation, renovation, and new market entry projects. Act as a strategic partner to Commercial, R&D, Quality, Legal, Packaging, and regional regulatory teams to deliver regulatory milestones aligned with business priorities. Consolidate and interpret local requirements through regional teams and external consultants to provide clear regulatory direction and decision frameworks across a complex global footprint.
  • Strategic Regulatory Guidance & Risk Management – apply and evolve global regulatory frameworks, tools, and risk assessment approaches across projects. Provide early guidance on ingredients, formulations, claims, pack copy, visuals, and emerging science to minimise late-stage risks. Lead oversight for global compliance and risk assessments for product concepts, claims, and communication materials, translating requirements into practical, business-ready recommendations.
  • Regulatory Intelligence & Foresight – monitor and interpret global regulatory and scientific developments relevant to food, confectionery, biscuits, and snacks, focusing on market expansion impacts. Own and evolve a global regulatory risk radar covering ingredients, claims, packaging, and market-specific topics, translating emerging risks and opportunities into forward-looking recommendations.
  • Global Integration & Stakeholder Influence – act as the central integrator of regulatory input across regions, ensuring alignment and consistency. Influence cross-functional stakeholders to embed regulatory considerations early in innovation and commercial decision making, balancing regulatory risk with commercial objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience within regulatory affairs for food, confectionery, FMCG, or related sectors, preferably with a multinational food manufacturing company.
  • Strong knowledge of global food regulations, Codex principles, claims regulations, ingredient standards, and policy processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder influence, strategic thinking, decision-making capability, communication, critical thinking, analytical ability, and pro-active, detail-oriented work style, capable of working independently or as part of a global network.
