Our ideal candidate will have previous Medical Reception experience, although full training will be provided for the right candidate. The position holder will need to handle queries from patients, liaise with other healthcare providers and Practice staff. We are seeking an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the smooth running of reception and waiting room
  • Providing reception and administration support to the practice to ensure the office runs with a degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Greeting and signposting patients in a pleasant and efficient manner
  • Telephone: making appointments, taking messages and answering queries
  • Disseminating home visit requirements
  • A mend medication on computer following GP instruction
  • Arrange repeat prescriptions for GP signature
  • Liaise with the computer help line to resolve any breakdown and develop a good working knowledge of the system
  • Keep up to date on computer enhancements and distribute lab results to GPs for acceptance
  • Photocopying
  • Scanning
  • Read coding, data input, searches
  • Smear administration
  • Registrations
  • Summarising
  • Ensure office policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Any other duties as specified by the Operations Manager/Reception Manager
  • Maintaining an efficient and professional image of the practice
  • Maintaining good relations with a wide range of people

Job Details

  • SALARY: Depending on experience
  • PRACTICE: Zetland Medical Practice
  • LOCATION: Windy Hill Lane, Marske and any other location requested by the practice
  • HOURS OF WORK: Part time and full time applications welcome; we are recruiting up to full time. Days and times negotiable. 30 min unpaid lunch and 2 x 15 min paid breaks. Staff may be expected to work outside those hours or at weekends if opening times change. Additional hours of opening would mainly be at Windy Hill Lane, Marske, but staff would be expected to work the hours allocated at any other site associated with the practice.

Person Specification

  • Experience of working in General Practice.
  • Experience of using SystmOne Clinical System.
