Working Days and Hours: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – 13:30 to 18:30

Candidate Profile: The candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service and organisational skills, together with the ability to work well under pressure while juggling a varied workload.

About the Role: The role involves providing front‑of‑house customer service to all stakeholders in a professional and friendly manner, answering, screening and navigating incoming phone calls, providing accurate information and signposting to the appropriate person, booking appointments, administering prescription requests and enquiries, administering patient tasks, registering new patients, opening and distributing post, and scanning clinical correspondence.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing front‑of‑house customer service to all stakeholders.
  • Answering, screening and navigating incoming phone calls.
  • Providing accurate information and signposting to the appropriate person.
  • Booking appointments.
  • Administering prescription requests and enquiries.
  • Administering patient tasks.
  • Registering new patients.
  • Opening and distributing post.
  • Scanning clinical correspondence.

Qualifications:

  • English language GCSE (level 9-4) or equivalent.
  • Mathematics GCSE (level 9-4) or equivalent.
  • Business Administration GCSE or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs level 9-4 or equivalent.

Other Requirements: Standard DBC clearance will be required. Submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 is required.

Benefits: Starting salary dependent on experience, with increase after a successful 6‑month probation period. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and membership to the NHS pension scheme.

Location: Hucclecote Surgery, Gloucester City.
