Westrop Medical Practice are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to fulfill a role within our expanding busy reception team at Tadpole Surgery. This role involves daily face to face and telephone contact with patients, arranging of appointments and follow up of patient related tasks. The practice aims to develop the role by offering further training to the right candidate to fulfill a role in supporting and navigating patients to the most appropriate care for their needs. This position would especially suit an applicant with previous experience in a primary care setting with an interest in maintaining excellent patient relationships. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and computer literacy skills are essential.
Main duties of the job
- Duties will include all aspects of reception work in a busy GP surgery.
- Face to face at the front desk, dealing with a high volume of phone calls and back office admin.
- A caring, friendly and diplomatic disposition is a must.
We offer NHS pension scheme as well as providing a supportive environment, and in return the post holder will be vital to our practice success.
Job responsibilities
- Booking and updating appointments
- Dealing with incoming calls from patients, doctors and hospital departments.
- Liaising with patients, doctors and hospital departments.
- Administrative support to the Practice as appropriate.
The successful candidate should preferably have:
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- High attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills
- Flexible approach
- Team player with ability to work without direct supervision
- Relevant qualification would be beneficial however not essential.
