Job overview
An exciting opportunity to join UCLH's Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing as a Reception Coordinator. This permanent, full time role (37.5 hours per week) involves shift work, including nights, weekends and bank holidays, where applicable. The successful candidate will deliver excellent customer care, support patients, visitors and multidisciplinary staff and will contribute to a high quality, patient focused environment.
Main duties of the job
- Provide a comprehensive range of administrative duties to deliver an excellent patient and user experience.
- Supervise and provide desk cover when required.
- Improve workflows and develop new SOPs to enhance service delivery.
- Oversee the smooth operational running of each reception desk (Front of House, Maternity Triage, Labour Ward and Postnatal Ward).
- Act as the first point of escalation for Clinic Receptionists with complaints or unresolved issues.
- Interact with patients via telephone, email and in person in a friendly and professional manner.
- Perform all administrative tasks associated with reception duties.
Knowledge and qualifications
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with Grade C or above in English and Maths.
- Knowledge of the full range of administrative procedures and Data Protection Act, acquired through training and experience.
- NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration, Customer Service, Healthcare Support Services or an equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Experience in a non routine environment with demonstrable problem solving skills.
- Experience in a customer facing environment, resolving queries and using initiative for first class service delivery.
- Previous NHS experience or experience in a healthcare setting.
