Owen Daniels are supporting a leading automotive manufacturer seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their established quality team. This role will suit a quality professional with strong customer-facing experience and a proven background managing quality activities from new product introduction through to series production. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting customers, driving quality improvements and ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead customer quality activities and act as the main point of contact for quality-related issues.
  • Support APQP activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Prepare and submit PPAP documentation in line with customer requirements.
  • Investigate quality concerns using structured problem-solving techniques and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits.
  • Review engineering drawings and specifications, applying strong GD&T knowledge.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to improve product and process quality.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

The Candidate

  • Experience in a Quality Engineer position within automotive manufacturing.
  • Strong front-end/customer quality experience.
  • Good working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA and Core Tools.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and interpretation of engineering drawings.
  • Experience of 8D, Root Cause Analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
