What You Will Do:

  • Quality Control testing of all raw materials, in process samples, finished products and returns.
  • Effectively communicate any failures to the QC Team Leader and Senior QC Chemist.
  • Effectively communicate any causes of production order delays, due to QC failure, to the QC Supervisor, Senior QC Chemist, Plant Manager, Planning Team and Customer Services Team.
  • Organisation of storage and disposal of retained QC samples and QC lab waste according to procedures and risk assessments.
  • Be responsible for managing QC files and databases, keeping them up to date and in a user-friendly order.
  • Analyze and monitor all interceptor waste dispatches both for disposal and in the operation of the ChampionX effluent waste plant.
  • Manage and maintain the register of non-conforming materials, taking advantage of appropriate opportunities for rework etc.
  • Consult as necessary with the Quality, Sales, Plant and Technical departments to make best economic use of non-conforming material.
  • Continuously review QC specifications of supplied material and outgoing finished products.
  • File all incoming "certificates of analysis/conformity" from suppliers (COA/COC) and maintain the filing system of COA/COC for outgoing speciality products.
  • Log and Investigate EH QC Service Requests to aid in problem solving.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Chemistry / Forensic / Science Degree.
  • Understanding of relevant Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • COSHH Awareness.
  • Manual Handling.
  • SAP User Training.
  • Security Awareness Training.
  • Experience working in a similar environment would be an asset.

Physical Demands:

This role requires working in a lab environment / chemical manufacturing plant. This position will be required to work a shift pattern that includes weekend shift work.
