We are seeking an experienced Purchasing/Cellar Supervisor to coordinate and manage a successful cellar operation, ensuring smooth hotel operations.
Responsibilities
- Support the Purchasing Manager in procurement by sourcing supplies such as food, beverages, and housekeeping materials, handling administrative tasks, and managing supplier relationships.
- Take charge of hotel purchasing and the hotel cellars, managing stocks, deliveries, and budget lines for the cellar.
- Ensure general, Food & Beverage invoices, delivery notes, and requisition notes comply with Starwood Hotels procedures.
- Manage the cellar budget, verify invoices, process them correctly under company policy, and resolve any discrepancies with orders and invoices swiftly.
- Ensure orders are based on usage, stock turnover, and cost of sales budgetary limits.
- Be present for and oversee all internal and external stocktakes and audits.
- Manage the logistics and distribution of all general and beverage stocks throughout the building and departments.
- Ensure quantity checks are performed on all general and Food & Beverage goods received.
- Input invoices, purchase orders, and requisitions daily and produce management information for better decision making.
- Work additional hours during month‑ends if required.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends, and be capable of physically moving heavy objects.
- Report to the Purchasing Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year managing a beverage cellar in hospitality operations.
- Proven track record of managing internal stocktakes and participating in external audits.
- Experience with a diary management system.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally.
- High level of organization and time management.
- Excellent record‑keeping abilities.
- English language – native or bilingual proficiency.
- Experience with the Birch Street Purchasing system and/or Ven Power Stock system is advantageous.
- Prior experience rolling out a stock system is an advantage.
