Ashcourt Group is continuing to grow, and we're looking for a dedicated Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our friendly finance team in Newton Aycliffe. Whether you're early in your finance career and looking for development, or you're an experienced ledger clerk seeking a stable, supportive team where your work is recognised, this role offers the best of both worlds.
About the Role
You'll play a key part in supporting the Ashcourt (Durham & Tees Valley) business, taking ownership of day to day ledger activity while contributing to wider accounts tasks. This is a varied, hands on role where you'll work closely with the Finance Manager and support the development of a junior colleague - making it ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, structure, and teamwork!
Responsibilities
- Day to day management of purchase ledgers, including inputting transactions, reconciling statements, and requesting missing information
- Processing invoices, allocating payments, and supporting general accounts tasks
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers and clients
- Mentoring a finance apprentice, helping them develop skills and confidence within the team
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Reconciling intercompany ledgers monthly
- Maintaining an organised and efficient filing system
- Supporting ad hoc projects and wider finance initiatives
What You'll Bring
