Are you an experienced Family Law Legal Assistant or Paralegal looking for a new opportunity within a Legal 500 recognised firm? The position is ideally suited to a Legal Assistant with a strong background in secretarial and administrative support. While experience in Legal Aid work is preferred, it is not essential, as full training will be provided.

What will be expected of you as a Legal Assistant:

  • Responding to queries from clients, solicitors, and other relevant parties in a timely and professional manner
  • Providing regular updates to clients and tracking the progress of matters
  • Opening and closing case files on the case management system in accordance with the firm's AML, quality assurance protocols, and SRA regulatory requirements
  • Assisting in the supervised drafting of routine correspondence, legal forms, and documents
  • Submitting and registering legal forms and documentation with HMCTS and the Legal Aid Agency
  • Maintaining accurate contact lists and managing calendars on behalf of fee earners
  • Monitoring key deadlines, managing appointments, and coordinating diaries
  • Preparing and processing invoices, receipts, and payments in collaboration with the finance department
  • Handling incoming client telephone calls during peak times
  • Providing reception cover as required
  • Preparing and handling banking and postal duties
  • Performing general administrative tasks to support daily operations
  • Undertaking other duties as necessary to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the office
