Imperial College London invites applications for a full‑time Post Doctoral Research Associate to contribute to cutting‑edge research in cancer metabolism. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team focused on advancing our understanding of metabolic mechanisms in cancer biology and translating those insights toward impactful research outputs. This fixed‑term research position offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant academic environment with access to world‑class facilities and collaborative networks across the College.

The role is based at the Hammersmith Campus in London and will involve designing and executing experimental studies, analysing data, interpreting results, and contributing to publications and presentations within the field.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates should hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as cancer biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a closely related field.
  • Applicants nearing completion of their PhD (with award imminent) may also be considered, with confirmation of degree awarded required before commencement.
  • Demonstrated experience in cancer metabolism research, including hands‑on laboratory techniques and analytical approaches, is expected.

Required Expertise / Skills

  • Advanced knowledge and practical research experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques relevant to cancer metabolism.
  • Proven ability to design and conduct laboratory experiments, manage large datasets, and apply appropriate statistical and bioinformatic tools to research questions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare manuscripts, reports, and scientific presentations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Salary Details

The position carries a competitive salary that reflects experience and College salary scales. Indicative details from similar research associate roles suggest a salary in the region of approximately £49,000 per annum (final salary to be confirmed).
