A well-established law firm in Merseyside is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Fee Earner, Litigation Executive or Solicitor to join its growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an established fee earner looking to handle a varied caseload within a supportive and busy department.
The Role
You will manage a mixed caseload including Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. The position will involve both litigated and pre-litigated work, client contact, Court attendance and case progression from instruction through to conclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing Court diaries and ensuring compliance with Court directions and deadlines
- Issuing and serving proceedings (DCP)
- Preparing Court bundles and lists of documents
- Liaising with clients, the Court and Counsel regarding hearings and case progression
- Attending Court with and without Counsel
- Taking instructions from new and existing clients
- Handling telephone and email enquiries
- Managing new enquiries for the department
- Ensuring limitation dates and procedural deadlines are met
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within a Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence or Litigation department
- Strong working knowledge of CPR, Court filing systems and the MOJ Portal
- Experience using Proclaim case management system
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work on own initiative
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Established fee earner experience preferred
