Syme Drummond is delighted to be exclusively partnering with Branston Ltd as they seek to appoint a new HR Officer to support their Scotland operation based in Abernethy, Perthshire. This is an opportunity to join one of Scotland's most recognisable food businesses, becoming the lead HR presence for a busy and fast-paced site of approximately 120 employees.
Working closely with operational managers, site leadership and the wider HR team, you'll enjoy real variety, strong visibility across the business and the opportunity to influence people decisions that genuinely make a difference. This is a true generalist HR role offering the chance to take ownership of the Scotland HR remit whilst remaining part of a collaborative and supportive UK-wide HR team. You'll be trusted to build relationships, coach managers, drive engagement initiatives and support the continued success of the site.

Responsibilities- Supporting managers across a broad range of employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and capability cases.
- Acting as the lead HR contact for the Scotland site, providing practical and commercially focused HR guidance.
- Driving employee engagement initiatives including surveys, action planning and recognition programmes.
- Managing recruitment and onboarding activity across the site.
- Supporting occupational health referrals, wellbeing initiatives and attendance management processes.
- Monitoring HR metrics and workforce trends to support operational performance.
- Supporting compliance activity and audit requirements.
- Coaching and developing managers to build confidence and capability in managing people matters.
- Supporting wider HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
- Line managing and supporting an experienced HR Administrator.
You'll already have experience operating within a HR Officer, HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role and be comfortable managing a broad range of people matters. You'll enjoy building strong relationships, influencing managers and providing practical solutions within a fast-moving environment. We're particularly keen to hear from individuals who are confident managing employee relations matters, enjoy coaching managers and are looking for a role where they can take ownership whilst remaining part of a supportive wider team. Experience gained within manufacturing, FMCG or another operational environment would be advantageous, although applicants from other sectors will absolutely be considered. CIPD Level 5 qualification, or working towards this, would be beneficial.
