The Payment Operations Manager is accountable for delivering operational excellence, modernization, and continuous improvement of the Payment Operations (sub-Capability) group within the Payment Services capability. The role reports to the Global Payment Services Capability Owner and leads a global team responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payment transactions across direct and indirect clearing channels, including payment lifecycle management and control. The manager is the single global point of responsibility for performance, collaborates across functions and geographies, and identifies modernization opportunities while stewarding data and supporting resilient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Modernisation: Define and communicate the vision and roadmap for the sub-capability, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and client needs. Champion modernization and innovation to enhance processes and drive productivity. Partner across functions to ensure systems are robust, scalable, and future-ready.
- Operational Excellence: Deliver daily operations with a resilient and globally consistent operating model. Maintain operational processes, controls, and oversight to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Maintain a robust control environment aligned to enterprise risk and compliance frameworks. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Stakeholder & Client Management: Meet service level agreements, provide transparency on service delivery through performance metrics and issue resolution. Provide incident response and crisis management for issues impacting the sub-capability. Pursue process improvements to enhance client experience and reduce risk.
- Talent & Culture: Structure, build, lead, and inspire a diverse and high-performing team. Align workforce planning to capability objectives. Foster accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence. Manage change to keep teams engaged and resilient.
- Data Stewardship & Performance Accountability: Ensure the quality, completeness, timeliness, and accuracy of all data and outputs aligned with the sub-capability. Adhere to data governance standards, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.
Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in the financial services industry with domain expertise in Payment Operations.
- Proven experience in operations management within a complex, global organization.
- Proven leadership guiding teams across different jurisdictions.
- Experience operating within risk, compliance, and resiliency frameworks.
- Operations specialist with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
