Job Description:
As a Nursery Room Leader, you will support the day-to-day running of a welcoming nursery setting in Loughton, Essex IG10, helping to deliver high-quality childcare and engaging early years education within a safe, caring, and stimulating environment. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Early Years Educator, Nursery Practitioner, or Room Leader with a strong background in Nursery (EYFS), preschool childcare, room leadership, and child-centred practice. You will help lead a room team, support EYFS learning and development, maintain safeguarding and welfare standards, and create positive experiences for children and families. The nursery setting provides care for babies, toddlers, and preschool children, with a strong focus on play, creativity, curiosity, independence, and child development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day running of a nursery room environment
- Support high-quality EYFS learning and development delivery
- Provide guidance, support, and encouragement to nursery practitioners
- Maintain safeguarding, health, safety, and welfare standards
- Support child-led learning, creative play, and engaging activities
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues
- Monitor children's progress, development, wellbeing, and individual needs
- Maintain accurate observations, records, and nursery documentation

Requirements:
- You must have the permanent right to work in the UK
- Relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
- Previous experience working as a Room Leader, Early Years Educator, or within a senior nursery role
- Strong background in Nursery (EYFS), childcare, and preschool environments
- Ability to support safeguarding children, child development, and EYFS delivery
- Warm, professional, caring, and confident communication skills with children, families, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently while supporting a nursery room team
