Salary: £12.75 per hour (Part-time - 4 hours per day, 4 days per week)

Service Type: Supported Living - Adults and Young People with Disabilities

Shift Pattern: Fixed rota - 4 hours per day, 4 days per week

Reports To: Senior Support Worker / Deputy Manager

Location: Waltham Cross (Working across 4 supported living properties)

Main Job Function: To work as part of the Willboag Ltd team to ensure that supported living properties are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety, creating a safe, dignified, and welcoming environment for service users, staff, and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and Hygiene: Carry out daily cleaning duties across supported living properties, including communal areas, kitchens, bathrooms, offices, and service user living spaces (where appropriate and agreed). Ensure cleaning schedules and checklists are completed in line with organisational standards. Maintain high standards of cleanliness in line with infection prevention and control procedures. Use cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment safely and correctly in accordance with COSHH guidelines. Report maintenance issues, damage, or health and safety concerns promptly to management.
  • Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure all cleaning duties are carried out in line with Willboag Ltd Health and Safety policies. Adhere to safeguarding policies and maintain professional boundaries at all times. Respect the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of service users. Ensure waste is disposed of correctly, including clinical and domestic waste where applicable.
  • Working Within Supported Living Environments: Work respectfully within the homes of vulnerable adults and young people. Be mindful of service users' routines, sensory needs, and personal space. Communicate professionally with staff on site regarding access, priorities, and any concerns.
  • Teamwork and General Duties: Work flexibly across four local supported living properties within Waltham Cross. Support the smooth running of the service by maintaining clean, safe environments. Attend mandatory training relevant to the role, including safeguarding and health & safety. Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade of the post.

Person Specification Requirements – Education and Experience

  • E1: Experience in a cleaning role or similar environment (desirable but not essential).
  • E2: Experience working in environments requiring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • E3: Willingness to undertake training relevant to the role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • E4: Ability to carry out cleaning duties to a consistently high standard.
  • E5: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple properties.
  • E6: Understanding of health and safety, infection control, and COSHH procedures.
  • E7: Ability to work respectfully within the homes of vulnerable individuals.
  • E8: Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management.
