Studio PDP is looking for a Part 1 Architectural Assistant to join our practice in Victoria, London. We are seeking a motivated and creative Part 1 to work on an exciting landmark retrofit project as well as various other projects across prime residential, hospitality and office sectors within our studio. Retrofit and sustainable/low energy design interest, skills or experience are a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and amending initial feasibility designs
- Assisting with planning, technical and working drawings
- Assisting to deliver presentations and reports of the highest standard at all stages of a project
- Observing and assisting with site inspections and quality control
- Observing and assisting with meeting, briefing and discussing project requirements and constraints with consultants and dealing with queries, checking and commenting on information supplied by others, and bringing the architectural information up to date
- Working well within a team with other architects, architectural technologists and assistants
- Working closely with other consultants and design team members
- Assisting with project document control including drawing registers and uploading/downloading drawings
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
- A UK recognised Part 1 architectural degree or equivalent qualification
- Proven design skills
- A flair for hand drawing and presentation
- An understanding of low energy design
- PassivHaus knowledge
- Experience / knowledge of retrofit
- An interest in detailing
- Experience in Revit and fluency in Microsoft and Adobe packages
- Knowledge of codes, practice standards, and industry expectations
- Knowledge of UK legal and statutory regulations and processes
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work to deadlines
- A proactive attitude, and a willingness to contribute to wider practice groups and activities
