The role of a Laundry Assistant at Akari Care involves ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all laundry processes within the care home. This includes providing personalized attention to residents' laundry needs, performing minor repairs, and maintaining a clean and well-organized laundry environment.
Main duties of the job include:
- Responsible for the day-to-day laundry operations, including washing, drying, and folding residents' personal items.
- Working closely with the Housekeeper and the wider domestic team to ensure the laundry service meets high standards.
- Being mindful of individual religious and cultural backgrounds to ensure that all residents receive a personalised service.
Job responsibilities:
- Ensuring the smooth, efficient running of all laundry processes in the home.
- Giving undivided attention and care to all items for laundering.
- Performing minor repairs to residents' personal items of clothing while being respectful and supportive of individual needs.
- Continually assessing all aspects of residents' laundry requirements and providing dedicated and individualised attention when required.
- Methodically ensuring that the laundry room is permanently clean and tidy, and that all equipment is clean and well maintained.
- Imparting knowledge to colleagues to ensure adherence to high standards.
- Being mindful of individual religious and cultural backgrounds to ensure residents feel they have a personalised service.
Hours: 20 hours per week.
