An opportunity has arisen at our Leicester office for a Paralegal to join our Contentious Trusts and Probate and Professional Liability team.

Role Overview

We are seeking a confident, motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to work alongside a Partner undertaking both Contentious Trusts and Probate work as well as Professional Negligence work. Both are Legal 500 teams and the Partner whom the candidate will support is a highly regarded, recognised specialist with many years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Managing new client enquiries and assisting with client onboarding
  • Drafting legal documents, including when appropriate letters of claim, instructions to counsel, and witness statements
  • Preparing court and mediation bundles
  • Opening and managing legal files, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations
  • Advising on funding options and legal costs where appropriate
  • Conducting legal research on case law, procedure, and evidentiary matters

What we are looking for

  • A degree in Law or a relevant field
  • Previous experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant
  • Experience within Contentious Trusts and Probate and/or Professional Negligence and/or general Civil Litigation would be advantageous
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and professionalism
