As we enter a busy and exciting period of growth, we're building our kitchen team across all levels to support the increased demand. We are looking for a Breakfast Chef to join our kitchen team across the Mercure Paignton and ibis Styles Paignton, supporting a key part of the guest experience. This role plays a vital part in setting the tone for the day, delivering high-quality breakfasts in a busy and fast-paced environment. A Day in the Life of a Breakfast Chef
- Take ownership of the breakfast section, delivering consistently high-quality dishes.
- Execute breakfast classics with precision, from perfectly cooked eggs to fresh pastries and hot items, ensuring presentation and flavour meet brand standards.
- All preparation completed before service begins so that cooking and plating can happen efficiently and consistently.
- Manage breakfast service flow, maintaining speed without compromising quality during peak guest check out periods.
- Monitor and replenish buffet displays, keeping food fresh, well presented and fully stocked throughout service.
- Work closely with front of house to ensure smooth communication around dietary requirements, special requests and guest feedback.
- Maintain exceptional hygiene standards in line with food safety legislation and hotel policies.
- Support stock control, rotation and ordering for breakfast ingredients to minimise waste and maintain availability.
- Assist with menu enhancements, contributing ideas that elevate the guest breakfast experience and drive positive reviews.

- Proven experience in a busy kitchen, ideally in a breakfast chef / Chef de Partie role or similar.
