We are currently seeking an experienced Lodge Porter to join our client's College Lodge team. This is a varied and responsible role, acting as the first point of contact for students, staff, visitors, and conference guests while helping to ensure the smooth, safe, and secure operation of the College. Applicants must have previous Lodge Porter experience. Candidates without prior Lodge Porter experience will not be considered and should not apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and responding to enquiries from students, staff, visitors, and guests in person, by telephone, and via email.
- Issuing and receiving keys, maintaining accurate key records, and managing check-ins and check-outs for students, conference guests, and visitors.
- Monitoring fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV systems, responding in accordance with College procedures.
- Receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and deliveries, and notifying relevant departments of incoming deliveries.
- Responding appropriately to emergencies, including providing First Aid where required and contacting emergency services or on-call maintenance personnel.
- Reporting welfare concerns relating to students to the appropriate College representatives.
- Reporting concerns regarding student behaviour to the relevant College authorities.
- Assisting visitors and interview candidates by providing directions or escorting them to meeting locations.
- Following all College policies and procedures relating to safety, fire prevention, security, and serious incidents.
- Conducting regular security patrols throughout the College site.
- Using College systems, including KX, Microsoft Outlook, email, and other communication platforms to maintain effective communication between departments.
- Reporting maintenance issues promptly to the Works Department.
