Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Manor Road Building, OX1 3UQ

Overview

Reporting to the Centre Director, the postholder will be a member of the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies with responsibility for carrying out research into socio-legal perspectives on digital developments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a report into how socio-legal analysis and research methods can be developed and refined as AI shapes research and teaching, and present findings in conferences and public meetings.
  • Co-convene an international conference on a theme related to socio-legal perspectives on digital developments.
  • Act as a source of information and advice to members of the CSLS on research topics.
  • Prepare applications for externally funded research projects.
  • Lay the groundwork for networks and collaborations to advance further research in the area.

Qualifications

  • Hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD/DPhil in Law, socio-legal studies, or a relevant social science discipline.
  • Excellent grasp of the field of socio-legal studies.
  • Ability to manage own academic research and contribute ideas for new research projects and research income generation and associated activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication and present research proposals and results.

Terms & Conditions

Full time, fixed term 1 year. Location: Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Manor Road Building, OX1 3UQ. Required to be in office minimum 3 days a week during term time.
