Sheridan Maine is partnering with a fast‑growing accountancy practice in Oxford to recruit a Client Manager. This role is for a recently qualified accountant ready to take the next step, build a client portfolio, and develop within a supportive high‑performing team. We work with a wide range of clients, including owner‑managed businesses, property investors, and high‑net‑worth individuals, and are known for a proactive, personal approach and strong client relationships.

The Role

  • Manage a developing client portfolio, gaining full ownership with guidance from senior team members.
  • Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies (FRS 102 Section 1A), sole traders, and partnerships.
  • Prepare corporation tax returns and self‑assessment returns.
  • Manage VAT returns and advise on VAT treatment.
  • Produce accurate, well‑structured work ready for senior review.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Communicate proactively and manage client expectations.
  • Develop technical knowledge across a varied client base.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes, including Making Tax Digital (MTD).

About You

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (full membership).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong accounts preparation experience across multiple entity types.
  • Confident preparing corporation tax computations and self‑assessment returns.
  • Good understanding of VAT.
  • High attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
  • Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues.
