Permanent General Building Operative - HMP Long Lartin, South Littleton, Evesham, Worcestershire WR11 8TZ.

Standard hours: 39 per week - Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00; Friday to Sunday 08:00 - 16:00. There may be a need to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis (with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary) and be part of a call out rota.

Base salary: £28,792.

Responsibilities
  • Provide general maintenance tasks and support tradespeople on site.
  • Provide professional assistance service to those requesting support, including contractor escorting duties when required.
  • Complete DIY tasks such as decorating, hanging notice boards, building furniture, and repairing items around the prison.
  • Check appliances, fittings and general environment for good working order and report all defects to the Team Leader.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, including litter picking and landscaping around the grounds if required.
  • Execute all other FM duties as directed by the team manager.
Qualifications
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Time management skills.
  • Preferred: CITB relevant certification or equivalent, or an NVQ trade qualification.
  • Solid experience in DIY or general building maintenance.
