We are recruiting for an Ofsted Registered Manager - Children's Homes (EBD) to lead and manage two children's homes in Derby, supporting 2 children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Locations: Derby

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £50,000-£55,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Dual Home Leadership: Oversee the day‑to‑day management of two EBD children's homes (Derby). Lead, support, and develop staff teams to provide a therapeutic, child‑centred environment.
  • Care & Support Delivery: Design and manage personalised care plans meeting children's emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs. Promote structure, emotional regulation, and preparation for adulthood in a safe, nurturing setting.
  • Safeguarding & Compliance: Take overall responsibility for safeguarding across both homes. Ensure quality assurance through audits, incident reviews, and continuous improvement.
  • Staff Development & Culture: Recruit, mentor, and train staff while promoting a trauma‑informed, learning‑focused culture. Ensure staff feel valued, supported, and professionally developed.
  • Multi‑Agency Working: Collaborate with local authorities, social workers, schools, health professionals, and families. Represent both homes in reviews, inspections, and multi‑agency meetings.
  • Operational Management: Manage rotas, staffing, budgets, and resources effectively. Ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting young people with EBD/challenging behaviours.
  • Proven management or strong deputy experience within children's residential care.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding law, Ofsted expectations, and Children's Homes Regulations.
  • Leadership, resilience, and decision‑making skills to manage dual‑site operations.

Requirements

  • Lots of autonomy within the role.
  • Minimum 2 years within children's residential care.
  • They will not be micromanaged and will be expected to take ownership of the role.
  • Holds an NVQ 5.
  • Full driving licence preferred.
