We are seeking a detail oriented and professional Occupational Health Technician to support the delivery of high quality health surveillance and pre-employment screening. The role involves conducting a range of clinical assessments, reviewing employee questionnaires, and ensuring accurate documentation in line with occupational health standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review employee health questionnaires
- Conduct baseline health checks including:
- BMI
- Pulse
- Blood pressure
- Urinalysis
- Medication review
- Smoking, alcohol, and exercise assessment
- Assess range of movement and posture:
- Neck, head, shoulder, elbow, and wrist rotation
- Spinal flexion
- Hip, knee, and ankle joint mobility
- Squat ability
- Grip strength
- Inspect hands for dermatological concerns
- Conduct HAVS Tier 1 and Tier 2 questionnaire reviews; perform Tier 3 testing where required
- Perform lung function testing using Vitalograph Alpha
- Conduct ear inspections; carry out hearing tests using Amplivox equipment
- Snellen visual acuity testing; Keystone VS 5 assessment (far vision, night vision, intermediate distance, near vision); colour vision testing
- Assess to Jaeger 1 standard; conduct greyscale testing
- Review night worker health questionnaires
- Perform urinalysis dip tests (pre-placement only)
