We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Stocken, a Category C Men's Prison located in Stretton, Rutland.
In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.
Service Details
- Monday to Sunday service
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday Friday shifts: 08 00, 08 30, or 09 00
This full time position offers an annual salary between £43,609 and £49,175, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive assessments within a multi-disciplinary team
- Initiate and review care plans, developing treatment options
- Undertake medication rounds and assess patients with traumatic experiences or distress
- Use an evidence based framework to assess health needs and perform risk assessments
- Provide advice, support and information to individuals, managing a case load of patients
- Deliver non judgemental care that makes a real difference
- Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects, liaising with prescribers as required
- Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders to inspire excellence
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision, and evidence based care
- Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care and support a high performing multi-disciplinary team
Qualifications
- Qualified Mental Health Nurse - NMC registration
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Experience working face to face with patients who have complex mental health conditions
- Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
