About The Role
Want to use your interpersonal skills over the telephone to provide vital support and services information to people affected by dementia? As a Telephone Support Volunteer you will help people living with dementia, affected by dementia or people that are worried about their memory connect to support and services that are available to them. You will provide a service that is tailored to a person's needs, interests, abilities, history and personality. You will be a key point of contact for people using our services, ensuring that we keep in touch with people at a time when they need our support.
This role will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal Records Check from either the Disclosure and Barring Service (England & Wales), Disclosure Scotland Check (Scotland) or AccessNI (Northern Ireland). We require volunteers to undertake telephone calls to support those people living with dementia on a weekly basis, ideally living within Telford and Shropshire areas. No previous experience necessary as training and ongoing support will be given. This is an opportunity to support those living with dementia within our community.
