Family Health Receptionist in Nuneaton

Main duties of the job include providing an efficient reception support service to the Family Health Outpatient Departments, undertaking associated clerical duties and maintaining a caring and compassionate environment.

Job responsibilities:

• Work independently under pressure and take responsibility regarding patient care across the Family Health departments.
• Book patients into the Department.
• Make clinic appointments.
• Ensure paperwork for clinics is collated.
• Work with the Department computer system, Lorenzo and Clinical Portal in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
• Deal with aggressive and abusive patients as necessary.
• Deal with enquiries, both by telephone and in person.
• Assist patients in the waiting area.
• Provide flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.
• Participate in appropriate meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality of personal health data.

Person Specification:

• Experience and Knowledge: Clerical experience, experience in Hospital Client/customer contact, organisational skills.
• Qualifications and professional training: Good standard of education.
• Skills and Abilities: Recognise the importance of punctuality, liaise and communicate with all disciplines, good communication and telephone skills, work as part of a team, conscientious and hard working, demonstrate understanding of patient confidentiality.
• Personal Qualities: Demonstrate good communication skills during interview, including listening and positive body language. Show insight into the needs of the organisation and patients/carers, displaying sensitivity and diplomacy as required. Willing to cover for colleagues during times of absence, sometimes at short notice.
