About the role: As a Cell Leader, you will hold ultimate accountability for all activity and performance within the cell. You will ensure the team not only meets today's targets but also has clear, robust plans in place to deliver the results of tomorrow. Acting as the figurehead for the cell, you will lead FIT reviews, represent the area during site visits, and take full ownership of the cell's 90 day plans. This is a key leadership position with both direct and indirect reports. A significant part of the role focuses on people upholding standards, maintaining a strong and healthy team culture, and ensuring consistent high quality performance. You will be responsible for coaching, developing, and growing talent within the cell, helping to develop the future leaders of the organisation.
Your responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of the Operations Cell, ensuring delivery of all KPIs and high standards in Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and People.
- Lead daily management activities, including FIT reviews, coaching, and supporting the team through structured problem solving.
- Drive continuous improvement through 90 day improvement plans, 6 step/PDCA cycles, and implementation of improvement focused initiatives.
- Provide day to day leadership of the cell, ensuring clarity of priorities, strong performance, and a healthy team culture.
- Set high standards for safety, quality, housekeeping (5S), cleaning, and operational excellence, modelling expected behaviours for the team.
- Take accountability for creating a high performing, highly engaged team with strong ownership for performance.
- Build and maintain strong cross functional relationships to support delivery and collaboration inside and outside the cell.
- Deliver critical KPIs across Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Cost, and People metrics.
- Reduce incidents, support investigations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Lead and coach team members to build skills, ownership, and capability, ensuring strong succession planning.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, providing meaningful feedback, coaching, and development support.
- Hold high quality team briefings and ensure timely communication flows throughout the team.
- Lead forward looking planning, including vision setting, labour planning, and cost effective deployment against R&CP.
- Champion site initiatives such as ECRS, 5S, and other continuous improvement activities.
The experience we're looking for:
- Experience in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical operations environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, inspire, and develop high performing teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing KPIs across Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and People.
- Proven track record of delivering improvement projects using tools such as PDCA, 6 step problem solving, or lean methodologies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, engage and drive accountability.
- Ability to build effective relationships across departments and work collaboratively at all levels.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance short term activity with longer term improvement planning.
- Strong analytical and decision making capability, with the ability to interpret data to drive actions.
- High levels of self motivation, resilience, and the ability to adapt in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Confidence working with systems, reporting tools and performance dashboards.
