The predicted salary is between 46000 - 52000 £ per year.

The closing date is 18 June 2026. The post holder will work with the Surgery and Associated Services Care Group Management Team for Burns & Plastics and Sarcoma to manage the services to achieve the Trust's vision of being "Outstanding in health outcomes and patient and staff experience". The role includes business support, operational and performance management, and service development to achieve the service's performance objectives.

Main duties of the job:

  • Lead day to day business management support for Burns & Plastics and Sarcoma services.
  • Drive delivery of operational plans and performance targets, escalating risks and unblocking issues.
  • Analyse demand, capacity and activity data to generate clear performance reports and decision support insights.
  • Monitor income and expenditure, supporting budget holders to deliver financial plans and efficiencies.
  • Support Senior General Manager with development of robust business cases and support service redesign and cost improvement programmes.
  • Embed governance and risk management, identifying and mitigating financial and operational risk.
  • Build strong relationships and communicate effectively across clinical teams, corporate services and system partners.
  • Line manage and develop staff through recruitment, HR processes, appraisals and capability support.

Person Specification:

Qualifications: Post graduate or equivalent experience and/or management qualifications.

Experience: NHS management experience. Evidence of managing NHS KPIs and achieving targets. Experience of line managing staff and human resource management including management of sickness and performance. Surgical specialty experience.

Communication: Evidence of leading, influencing and motivating teams. Ability to manage conflict.

Other: Business and patient focused. Ability to present complex data. Record of effective and proactive performance. Currently at service manager level.
