An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the interdisciplinary team within the School of Education and Society. We are specifically looking for someone with an academic and practice background in social work and courses associated with those regulated by Social Work England. The role will involve contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate courses and typically involve face to face and online teaching. Wider professional responsibilities will typically include working on Saturdays for student recruitment, twilight teaching, engaging in partnership work with employers, research and enterprise development. The post requires the ability to involve and liaise with key stakeholders related to social work. This post is subject to a background disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service before any appointment can be confirmed.

  • Provide an outstanding and research informed student learning experience
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovation in the effective development, planning, delivery and assessment of learning
  • Demonstrate thorough subject knowledge of social work
  • Integrate face to face and online teaching and learning
  • Apply their relevant professional/industry experience to the student experience
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Adopt, adapt and use digital devices, applications and services to support the student experience
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the University's values of inclusivity, trust, sustainability and aspiration

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in relevant subject
  • Master's degree in relevant subject
  • Professional Recognition (HEA) Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale

Desirable Qualifications

  • Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
  • Relevant professional qualification
