We are pleased to be partnering with Ulster University to offer a Degree Apprenticeship in Law for an aspiring future lawyer. The programme will enable a legal apprentice to study for an LLB (Hons) in Law at Ulster University, while gaining professional legal experience within one of Northern Ireland’s leading independent law firms. This unique four-year programme – facilitated by the Department for the Economy’s Higher Level Apprenticeship scheme – offers aspiring solicitors the opportunity to earn while they learn, gain invaluable professional experience, and acquire a degree from an award‑winning university without incurring any tuition fees. The successful candidate will commence the programme in September 2026.

Programme structure

  • 4 days per week working in office at Wilson Nesbitt
  • 1 day per week studying Law at Ulster University
  • Earn while you learn model

What you’ll do at Wilson Nesbitt

  • Manage your own legal caseload with guidance and support from our team
  • Work closely with experienced solicitors and managers
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders
  • Conduct document signing consultations
  • Draft and proofread legal documents
  • Progress cases using internal systems to meet targets

The ideal candidate will have

  • Strong A‑level results or equivalent BTEC qualifications
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive, enthusiastic, and diligent work ethic
  • Good computer literacy
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
