MPA Recruitment are looking for a reliable and experienced Ad Hoc Cook to join our team. This role provides cover on an as needed basis - ideal for someone seeking flexible work or looking to supplement existing hours. You’ll be responsible for preparing and serving wholesome, well balanced meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents, including those with special requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals following planned menus and dietary guidelines.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Ensure safe food storage, preparation, and service in line with health and safety standards.
  • Work closely with care staff to support residents' individual nutritional needs.
  • Manage kitchen stock and report shortages to the manager.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Cook or Chef in a care home, hospital, or similar setting (preferred).
  • Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and special dietary requirements.
  • Food Hygiene Level 2.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • A caring, positive attitude and a commitment to residents' wellbeing.
