A professional family in Newbury, Berkshire is seeking a sole charge Nanny to support their 8‑year‑old twins who have ASD. The role involves caring, engaging and supporting the children’s learning and wellbeing, while handling some light housekeeping duties related to the boys.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and caring support to the twins, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Engage the children in educational, creative and recreational activities suitable for their abilities.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as batch cooking, changing bedding and laundry while they are at school.
- Travel with the children to and from school and other appointments as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2+ years working with children of the same age.
- Childcare qualifications are essential; additional training in working with autistic children is welcomed.
- Up‑to‑date DBS on the update service and a 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- At least 2 professional references, one of which must be a current or former employer.
Working Hours & Days
- Term time – Monday to Thursday or Monday to Friday, 1 pm–6 pm (or a split shift of 7 am–9 am and 3 pm–6 pm).
- School holidays – Monday to Thursday or Monday to Friday, 8 am–6 pm.
Location & Travel
Newbury, Berkshire. The role requires ability to drive.
Compensation
£20–£23 gross per hour, based on experience. (Equivalent to £37,375 gross per annum for a full weekly schedule, pro‑rated over the year.)
