A highly respected specialist insurer is seeking an experienced Professional Indemnity Underwriting Team Leader to help shape the next phase of growth within its Manchester operation. This is a pivotal opportunity for a strong PI underwriter who enjoys broker trading, mentoring others, and building a high-performing new business proposition within a fast-growing and well-backed business.

You'll work closely with senior leadership as part of an ambitious growth strategy, helping drive a portfolio currently approaching £30m GWP toward significant future expansion.

The Role
  • Lead and develop the New Business PI underwriting function
  • Underwrite across a broad range of Professional Indemnity risks
  • Build and strengthen broker relationships across the UK market
  • Support the continued growth of the Manchester office as the central hub for SME business
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership on underwriting strategy and portfolio development
  • Mentor and support underwriters within the team
Ideal Experience
  • Strong PI underwriting background across a wide range of professions
  • Experience handling property professionals, surveyors, estate agents and/or Design & Construction risks would be highly advantageous
  • Strong broker development and trading skills
  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience beneficial, though not essential
  • Commercially minded with a growth-focused approach
