Join the Creative Heart of St Edmund's College as a Music & LAMDA Administrator to support the thriving musical and co-curricular life of the College. Working closely with the Director of Music, visiting teachers, pupils, parents and staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of a busy and vibrant department.

Hours: Term Time Only - 1.5 days per week plus 3 days in College Holidays (some flexibility can be offered with regards to days and hours). Flexibility to attend concerts, open days and trips would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Music with the daily administration of the Music and LAMDA Department.
  • Act as the first point of contact for pupils, parents and staff regarding music and performing arts activities.
  • Coordinate and timetable instrumental, singing and LAMDA lessons using the SOCS system.
  • Manage communications relating to lesson schedules, attendance, examinations and changes.
  • Organise Music (ABRSM, Trinity and LCM) and LAMDA examinations, including entries, accompaniment and stewarding.
  • Assist with concerts, recitals, trips and tours, including programmes, transport and catering.
  • Provide administrative support including ordering music, arranging instrument repairs and piano tuning, and supporting ensemble organisation.
  • Assist in promoting the department through social media and College publications.
  • Work collaboratively with the Prep School and wider College community to support events and timetabling.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Can manage multiple tasks efficiently and calmly.
  • Is confident using administrative and timetabling systems.
  • Enjoys working in a busy educational and creative environment.
  • Has an interest in music, drama or the performing arts.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.

While not in a teaching role, as a Music and LAMDA Administrator you will regularly work in a school environment, engaging with children. This means you will be in regulated activity and an enhanced DBS check (including children's barred list) will be required before appointment. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility. As with all College staff members, you will therefore be responsible for providing a safe environment in which children can learn.
