As a Multi-Skilled Operative, you will support the day-to-day operations of a Duo Group processing site. Working closely with the wider team, you will help ensure safe, efficient, and productive site performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the safe and efficient operation of the processing plant
- Carry out and document pre-start and pre-shift safety checks
- Maintain plant equipment, including routine greasing and servicing
- Assist with plant operations including crushing, screening, and washing processes
- Ensure material quality. Inform the Supervisor of any Non Specification materials and the remedial action
- Housekeeping and site maintenance
- Report defects, near misses, and safety concerns promptly
- Carry out regular inspections of machinery and report issues via the defect system
- Assist with basic repairs and maintenance when required
- Accurately record production data, including tonnages processed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet site objectives
- Follow company procedures and promote best practices on site
Success / Performance Measures:
- Adherence to health and safety standards
- Reliable support to site operations and team members
- Accuracy of records and reporting
- Effective identification and reporting of defects
- Contribution to site productivity and efficiency
Previous Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar quarrying, mining, construction, or plant environment (essential)
- Experience with crushing, screening, or washing operations (desirable, training provided)
Core Skills / Competencies:
- Understanding of plant maintenance and basic fault identification
- Material production knowledge
- Adhere to your specific site authorisations
- CPCS / NPORS Loading Shovel or/and Excavator licence (preferred)
- Additional CPCS / NPORS tickets (advantageous but not essential)
- Flexibility with working hours
- Strong team player with a proactive approach
- Organised and able to prioritise workload
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to company procedures
- Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards
