Job Summary

Mobile Plant Operative - Imerys, St Austell, Cornwall. Day and night shift over a 2 week period, 7am 7pm and 7pm 7am (alternating weekend working). 11 hour shifts with a 1 hour break. Salary: £25,445.42 per annum with opportunities for pay progression upon completion of training competencies, plus shift allowances: shift allowance (12 hour days & nights) £6,461.65 per annum; shift allowance (12 hour days only) £4,174.82 per annum.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Rigid Dump Truck (days) or Medium Wheeled Loaders (days and nights) ensuring all equipment is operated safely and efficiently to maximise tonnes moved per shift.
  • Ensure that excavation and tipping areas are well maintained, following local site rules and traffic management plans.
  • Operate equipment at maximum productivity and minimise waiting time.
  • Carry out equipment safety checks at the beginning of each shift.
  • Work closely with local Site Supervisors to address issues as they arise.
  • Maintain close contact with the team using in cab radio.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to legally drive in the UK.
  • Previous experience operating mobile plant and large machinery.
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills.
  • Preferred: MPCQ or CPCS accreditation in the specific class of mobile plant. Training will be provided if not held.
  • Time keeping, flexibility and attention to detail are essential.
