About the role

At HC-One, kindness is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a dedicated Chef who can bring their skills and passion for food into our care home kitchen. You'll play a vital role in preparing and serving wholesome, homemade meals that not only meet nutritional needs but also bring comfort and enjoyment to our Residents every day. This role comes with a £1,000 welcome bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals following the kitchen plan and dietary requirements of residents.
  • Plan menus, source fresh ingredients, and ensure all dishes meet taste, presentation and nutritional standards.
  • Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards, adhering to HACCP and other relevant regulations.
  • Serve meals to residents, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification, holding an S/NVQ2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery and a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Sound knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • Creativity in menu planning and pride in presenting nutritious and appetising dishes.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and caring approach.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect and know what to do if there are concerns. You are required to attend safeguarding training and undertake additional training in associated areas. You should be able to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
