Position Overview

Location: Essex or Middlewich

Type: Full time, permanent - 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £24,865.66 per annum

Responsibilities

What you will do: You will be part of the Failsafe team supporting the Hospital Eye Service. Your role is to ensure administrative processes are in place to detect and rectify errors in patient pathways.

  • Monitor all patients referred to the Hospital Eye Service Department in line with guidance and policy.
  • Support booking of appointments for patients based on referral type within national set timelines.
  • Ensure patients on discharge are referred back into the programme within the correct pathway and that their GP has been informed.
  • Liaise with maternity units to ensure all diabetic pregnant patients are referred to the Diabetic Eye Screening Programme.
  • Audit patient status to ensure all patients under the Hospital Eye Service are seen at least annually.
  • Review and respond to individual queries and capture required data.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: GCSE or equivalent; training or experience in patient care.

Experience: Previous administrative role; experience dealing with customers or patients.
