The predicted salary is between 24000 - 28000 £ per year.

Main duties of the job:

  • The postholder will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers and will be required to deal with enquiries efficiently and courteously.
  • Provide professional and quality administrative support and reception service to patients, doctors, other health professionals and all visitors.
  • Ensure that all patients and visitors either in person or via the telephone are greeted professionally and politely.
  • Welcome and direct staff/visitors/Service Users to the appropriate area/person.
  • Answer all incoming calls from patients and other health care professionals, divert them appropriately and liaise with clinicians.
  • Make/cancel and re-arrange appointments via the system.

Qualifications:

  • Literacy and numeracy level 2.
  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in computer applications.
  • NVQ Level 2 Business Admin.

Experience:

  • Recent experience of working in an office/reception (within the last year).
  • Recent experience of working in a GP/medical practice in an admin/receptionist role.
  • Experience of working with the public (both face to face and on the telephone).
  • Competent in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook & Excel.
  • Experience of working with people with varying levels of communication skills/abilities.
  • Experience of working in a care environment.
  • Experience of using SystmOne.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Awareness of confidentiality.
